Payment Terms - Stolly
Effective Date: August 31, 2025
Applies to: “Stolly” - a mobile and web storytelling platform (the “App”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
User: “you”, “User”.
For the purposes of these Payment Terms:
Most purchases made inside the Stolly mobile app (including Subscriptions, Virtual Currency, Virtual Gifts and other Paid Services) are processed by App Store Providers using Apple’s or Google’s own billing systems (e.g., Apple’s in-app purchase, Google Play Billing, Apple Pay / Google Pay as enabled by them).
Voluntary Donations / Support Contributions may be processed directly by Stripe or other payment service providers on our behalf (for example, on our website or through web views within the App).
You must not attempt to circumvent App Store billing rules (for example, by using unauthorized methods or “resellers” to obtain Paid Services or Virtual Currency). We may suspend or terminate your access to Paid Services if we reasonably suspect such activity.
The price applicable to a purchase is the price shown to you at the time of purchase within the Service or by the App Store Provider. Prices may be displayed in your local currency, subject to the capabilities of the relevant store or provider.
Prices may include or exclude taxes (such as VAT, GST or sales tax) depending on your jurisdiction and the rules of the App Store Provider or payment processor. Where required by law, applicable taxes will be charged and shown to you before you complete the purchase.
If your payment method is denominated in a different currency, your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion rates and additional fees. We are not responsible for such fees and do not control the exchange rate used.
We may correct obvious errors in displayed prices even after you place an order. If the correct price is higher, we will either contact you for instructions before processing the order or cancel the order and issue a refund (where applicable).
For App Store purchases, receipts are issued directly by Apple or Google. For Donations or other Stripe-processed payments, a confirmation or receipt will be made available to you by email or within the Service.
Unless otherwise stated, Purchased digital items, content and features (including Virtual Currency, Virtual Gifts and one-off Paid Services) are made available to you immediately after the transaction is successfully processed.
All Paid Services, Virtual Currency and Virtual Gifts are provided to you under a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use them within the Service, subject to the ToS and these Payment Terms. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the software, content, or underlying IP.
We do not guarantee any particular availability, ranking, visibility, views, earnings, or performance result in exchange for a purchase (for example, there is no promise of a certain number of views for a story or a certain level of creator income). See the ToS for additional disclaimers relating to Paid Services and AI features.
Subscriptions (e.g., monthly or annual premium plans) generally renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current subscription price, unless you cancel in accordance with the rules of the App Store Provider or, for web-based subscriptions, the instructions provided by the payment processor.
Cancellation typically takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Subscription features until that time. Unless otherwise required by law or provided in our Refund Policy or the applicable store rules, we do not offer pro-rated refunds for partially used billing periods.
If we or the App Store Provider offer a free or discounted trial:
Virtual Currency and Virtual Gifts are governed by the ToS. For clarity:
You may acquire Virtual Currency by:
Virtual Currency may be used only within the Service, for purposes described at the time of purchase (for example, sending Virtual Gifts or unlocking certain features). We may introduce expiration periods, limits or other conditions for Virtual Currency, which will be communicated in the Service or campaign terms.
Except where expressly permitted by us, Virtual Currency and Virtual Gifts are personal to your Account and may not be transferred, sold, bartered, traded, sublicensed or otherwise disposed of, whether for value or otherwise. Any attempt to do so may lead to suspension or termination of your Account and loss of Virtual Currency and Virtual Gifts without refund.
If your Account is suspended or terminated in accordance with the ToS (for example, for serious policy violations, fraud, or misuse), you may lose access to any unused Virtual Currency, Virtual Gifts or other Paid Services. Unless required by law or expressly stated in the Refund Policy, we are not obliged to provide refunds or compensation in such cases.
Donations / Support Contributions made via Stripe (or another listed provider) are voluntary contributions to support Stolly’s development and operation. They are not payment for specific digital content or services and typically do not unlock additional features, content or Virtual Currency unless explicitly stated at the time of contribution.
Unless we clearly state otherwise, Donations are not charitable donations to a registered charity and are not automatically tax-deductible. You are solely responsible for any tax treatment of such contributions in your jurisdiction.
Given their voluntary and non-contractual nature, Donations are generally non-refundable, except where:
Any such refunds will be handled in accordance with our Refund Policy and the rules of the payment processor (e.g., Stripe).
By making a Donation via Stripe, you also agree to Stripe’s own terms and policies. Stripe acts as a payment service provider and not as our co-provider of the Service.
If you are an EU consumer, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for certain online purchases. However, for most digital content and services supplied immediately (such as in-app consumables, Virtual Currency, Virtual Gifts, or streaming audio stories), this right may not apply once:
Our Refund Policy and the purchase flow explain how this works in practice.
For purchases made via Apple App Store or Google Play Store:
For Donations or other Stripe-processed payments, our Refund Policy sets out when we may issue a refund (e.g., technical failure, duplicate charge, unauthorized transaction).
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute without first giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue, we may:
This does not limit your statutory rights or your ability to raise legitimate disputes with your bank or card issuer.
If a payment for a Subscription or other Paid Service fails (for example, due to insufficient funds, card expiry or chargeback), we or the App Store Provider may attempt to re-process the payment or request that you update your payment method.
If payment remains unsuccessful, we may suspend or limit your access to the affected Paid Services, including Subscriptions and any features that depend on them, until valid payment is received.
If we reasonably suspect unauthorized transactions, stolen payment credentials, money laundering, fraudulent chargebacks, or abusive behaviour, we may temporarily freeze or permanently terminate your Account and cooperate with App Store Providers, payment processors and law enforcement, as permitted by law.
We may change the prices of Paid Services, introduce new charges, or modify billing terms from time to time. For Subscriptions, we will provide prior notice of material price changes in accordance with applicable law and App Store rules.
If you do not agree to a price increase for a Subscription, you must cancel the Subscription before the new price takes effect, using the relevant app store or account settings. Continued use of the Subscription after the change becomes effective will constitute acceptance of the new price.
Price changes do not affect periods for which you have already paid, except as required by law or explicitly agreed with you.
You may stop using the Service and cancel Subscriptions or other Paid Services at any time in accordance with Section 6. Cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund for amounts already paid, except where required by law, our Refund Policy, or App Store rules.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Paid Services or your Account in accordance with the ToS (e.g., for serious violations, abuse, fraud, or legal reasons). Unless required by law, we are not obliged to provide refunds for:
Sections relating to outstanding payments, refunds, chargebacks, fraud, and governing law/ disputes shall survive termination to the extent necessary to resolve outstanding issues.
These Payment Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden and applicable EU law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. In all other cases, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction provisions set out in the ToS (typically the courts of Stockholm, Sweden), unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Before initiating formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact us so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally. Information on out-of-court dispute settlement bodies (where applicable under EU law or the DSA) is provided in the ToS.

These Payment Terms, together with the ToS, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding payments and Paid Services on Stolly, without prejudice to mandatory terms of App Store Providers and payment processors.
If any provision of these Payment Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid one reflecting as closely as possible the original intent.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Payment Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed (including electronically) to be effective.
